The bulk of the press clippings that have been uncovered are articles and advertisements from the local Philadelphia papers that appeared during the Pabs era. This was at a time when local bands received some attention from the news media, and many of the more informed writers knew of Richard’s earlier notable musical accomplishments in jazz and free-jazz performances. With that history, and the newness of Duck Soup coming onto the local scene, there were many opportunities for reviewers to speak their minds. Interestingly, the reviews were always positive.
